چکیده

We present a case of unilateral blindness with subarachnoid hemorrhage after rupture of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm. Her corrected visual acuity was 1.2 in the right eye and no light perception in the left eye. Fundus examination revealed intrarerinal and subretinal hemorrhages and optic disc atrophy in the left eye. We speculated the condition as an ischemic optic neuropathy. Although the retinal hemorrhages were gradually reduced, her left visual acuity was still no light perception. We should be aware of the potential for subarachnoid hemorrhage resulting in optic nerve damage and retinal hemorrhage.

Multiple aneurysms associated with agenesis of internal carotid artery.

Agenesis of internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare anomaly. The contralateral dominant artery has a high incidence of aneurysms. A 50-year-old male patient had aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage due to rupture of a paraclinoid aneurysm. He also had an anterior communicating artery (Acom) aneurysm and the contralateral ICA was absent. To the best of the authors knowledge, the combination of age...

Bilateral tentorial subdural hematoma without subarachnoid hemorrhage secondary to anterior communicating artery aneurysm rupture: a case report and review of the literature.

A case of acute subdural hematoma over the tentorium secondary to rupture of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm is reported. A 42-year-old female patient presented with acute-onset, severe bifrontal and retro-orbital headache. CT revealed only symmetric thickening of the tentorium. MR imaging revealed the presence of a 10-mm anterior communicating artery aneurysm, which was confirmed by ...

Spontaneous Regression of Aneurysm Remnant after Incomplete Surgical Clipping in a Patient with Ruptured Cerebral Aneurysm

Cases of spontaneous regression of cerebral aneurysm remnant after incomplete surgical clipping have been rarely reported. This paper reports the regression of an aneurysm remnant after incomplete surgical clipping during postsurgical follow-up. A 50-year-old male presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage because of rupture of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm. An emergency clipping of the...

Migrating subdural hematoma without subarachnoid hemorrhage in the case of a patient with a ruptured aneurysm in the intrasellar anterior communicating artery.

Acute spontaneous subdural hematoma without the presence of a subarachnoid hemorrhage as a result of a ruptured aneurysm is rare. We present the case of a patient with an aneurysm of the intrasellar anterior communicating artery that caused hemorrhage solely into the subdural space. The hemorrhage then migrated down the spinal canal. Our case is unique because all these 3 rare processes occurre...

Pituitary adenoma apoplexy caused by rupture of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm: case report and literature review

BACKGROUND Pituitary adenoma combined with intracranial aneurysm is not rare. Some aneurysms are located inside pituitary adenomas, and most do not rupture. Pituitary apoplexy caused by aneurysm rupture is rare and is easily misdiagnosed as simple pituitary adenoma apoplexy. CASE PRESENTATION In this study, we report one case of rare pituitary adenoma apoplexy caused by the rupture of an ante...
